Experimenting with my new maxi dress...

Hey hey hey,

So i received 3 of my maxi dresses yesterday and i was eagerly excited to recreate a look my dear friend Ashi created on her birthday...hope you don't mind but your sense of fashion is inspiring =) As i tore open the packaging and flung open the first maxi dress, my heart sank...i held the jersy maxi dress against myself and found that it was the 'clingy' material i dreaded it would be =( I got it in a size 10 but seeing as i wanted to wear it almost like an abaya, a larger size would have been better. Anyway, i tried it on and it wasn't so bad (it was kinda translucent though which was a downer; 'tumar tolleh di shock-kohlta dekha-zai nu'...basically 'i can see what you're wearing underneath', my mother pointed out) but i wore skinny jeans underneath which wasn't so bad. I'll have to wait until Summer and do the 'translucency test' again to see just HOW see-through the dress it, til then, i'm gonna rock this look =) I first wore it with some pretty grey heels (i admit, i cannot walk in heels well!) and it looked really good, but when i went outside with my nephew and he was making me run after him, i thought 'Sod this, where are my flats?' so i grabbed the nearest flats and stuck them on.

I'm not vain for taking my own pics...my personal photographer wasn't available on the day! *nervous laugh*

Pah! And my mother says i don't show her love...

My mother often complains that i never show her any love so i thought i'd illustrate my love for her by kissing her...on both cheeks...with bright red lipstick! Oh, and she posed for the camera too! If you love your mother, do remind her time to time. We often get so caught with work and/ or studies that we forget to remind the ones we love just how much we actually love them...So take this opportunity to go cuddle, kiss or even hi5 your parents and tell them you love them!

Let me know how it goes m'lovelies =)

Hmmm you smell nice? What perfume are you wearing?

Howdy m'lovelies,

Thought i'd do a post on my fave perfumes =) I remember one day a female bus driver actually stopped the bus to ask me what perfume i was wearing as i walked past her after tapping my oyster card on the reader. I felt a tad wee bit embarassed if i must admit but i secretly relished the fact that my perfume was actually doing it's purpose...that's making me smell nice, not the show-stopping part!
Anyway, in no particular order, here is my Top 10:
1) Thierry Mugler- Alien
2) Carolina Herrera 212 (Pink bottle)
3) Emperio Armani She
4) Jean Paul Gautier Classique
5) Calvin Klein Euphoria
6) Paco Rabanne Lady Millions
7) Next Diamonds (my friends say this smells exactly like Miss Dior Cherie)
8) Christian Dior Addict
9) Christian Dior Poison (round white bottle)
10) Coco Chanel

So there you go ladies (and gent...you know what to buy your woman!), those are some of my all time favourite scents, i had heaps to choose from and couldn't narrow it down to a Top 5, hence the Top 10!

What are your fave perfumes?

Kwor-fee? ('Coffee' for my Non-Yankies!)

Hey hey hey,

Thought i'd do a post on coffee...random i know, but hey that's me! =)

I remember i was addicted to coffee during my uni years...oh how very long ago that seems! It was the only thing that supposedly 'kept me awake'...i say supposedly because i could never do all-nighters like most students insist the result of endless jugs of coffee have on themselves. Anyway, having said that, i would drink coffee like it was tap water, mug after mug after mug! I enjoy experimenting with my coffees (as in the way i make them), here are some of my creations:

1- 1tsp of coffee, brown sugar and hot milk
2- 1tsp of coffee, brown sugar, little bit of water, evaporated milk then hot water
3- Coffee, brown sugar, Coffee mate and water
4- Coffee, brown sugar, half water half milk

I can't think of anymore but when i do i shall add to the list. I haven't got a favourite yet, it all depends on how much time i have, my 'bother-ability' and sometimes my mood (milky ones make me sleepy!).

How do you like your coffee? Or do you prefer tea? I hear Peppermint tea has health benefits so i might try that next. I'm not a big fan of green tea though (i once bought Twinings Green Tea teabags and HATED it), but a collegue at work recommended i taste the 'authentic' green tea from Wing Yip (chinese grocery store)...his eyes nearly popped out their socket when i told him i thought Green Tea was the stuff Twinings produced. He told me 'that's rubbish' and tasted nothing like the green tea from chinese grocery stores. I trust my collegue because he's of Oriental origin so i shall try the 'chinese' green tea next time i visit Wing Yip =)...on the other hand, he also told me in his native land (Cambodia) they love to eat fried spiders (i had to ask him whether he loves to eat these creatures after watching a programme on countries that feast on creepy crawlies) so i'm not sure if i can trust this chap's pallette *confused*

Anyway, i can go on writing lots more but it wont make sense after a bit and will probably bore you so i shall leave it there. I'm off to make some spiced apple crumble cupcakes...not the Asian's stance on chilli (chilli powder/ green chillis) but mixed spice, lol. I shall let you know how they turn out once i'm done =)

Lush Sweet lips

Ola bloggers,

Apologies for the lack of posts lately, been a lil busy doing a bit of overtime at work (need the cheddar for all that Mac makeup i ordered recently!) and meeting some friends. But good news, i'm back and will hopefully do a couple of posts to make up for not posting in a while :)

I've recently been using a lip scrub from Lush called Sweet lips, they do it in Vanilla, Mint and....and...i actually can't remember the last one. Anyway, i met up with one of my close friends recently and we were talking about skincare. She mentioned the Sweet Lips scrub she had bought a couple of months back but had been using it on her face and she loved the results. We decided to visit Lush that day and she surprised me by buying me Sweet Lips in Vanilla! So i went home and used it on my lips then used a little on my face (just after i took my make up off and washed my face with Freederm sensitive wash) and i loved it! I woke up the next morning with really soft skin...i didn't have to use a moisturiser after i had washed my face as the scrub leaves the skin moisturised (i believe it is the jojoba oil working its magic!).

The scrub contains castor sugar, organic jojoba oil, vanilla extract, cocoa absolute and tagetes oil (not sure what exactly the last two ingredients are but i'm assuming it is something to do with chocolate and an oil i've never heard of?!). It feels, smells and works great. Have you used this before? What do you think?

What scrubs do you guys recommend/ love?

The Humingbird Bakery...YUM!

Hey guys,

I haven't been able to post anything for nearly a week as i've been busy with work and catching up with some friends.

Talking of friends, i met up with some of my lovely girls yesterday. I've been banging on about these MEGA YUMMY cupcakes i once had from The Humingbird Bakery so we all decided to have a good ol' natter over some cupcakes. Now, if you haven't heard about The Humingbird Bakery...they are famous for their red velvet cakes, so indeed, my friends opted for one of these and by the looks on their faces when they took a bite of that cupcake, they were surely not disappointed. You can certainly forget any diet you may be on, their buttercream icing is to die for ('better than the cupcakes in Westfield' said my friend!).

Anyway, if you ever come across this bakery (they have one in Wardour Street near Soho and another near Portobello market), do pop by and have yourself a cupcake or three, i assure you you will NOT be disappointed!
